Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust serves a population of around 450,000.

The Trust runs three hospitals:

  • Worthing Hospital in the centre of Worthing

Every year, the Trust's 6,000 staff:

  • Treat 102,000 inpatients and day cases
  • See 376,000 outpatients 
  • Treat 115,000 people in the two A&E departments
  • Deliver 5,700 babies
  • Dispense 600,000 medicines
  • Take 170,000 blood tests
  • Take 210,000 imaging exams (x-rays/scans)
  • Carry out 75,000 operations
